About us

Meet the maker

My name is Kirsty & I own Keepsake Hugs The Memory Bear Company.

I live in Bristol with my partner and our two children

My love for sewing started after the birth of my daughter in 2012.

I created a memory blanket from her tiny items of clothing and Keepsake Hugs The Memory Bear Company was born.

Since I started my business I have continuously grown my keepsake designs and I’m always adding new patterns to the already extensive collection.

It’s always such a great privilege to create each and every one of the keepsakes I’ve made, and a great honour to be trusted with such special items of clothing that hold special memories to a person.

I look forward to creating many more memory items in the future.

Just collected my wedding dress pillow and I absolutely love it!! Such a good idea to do as it would have just been stored away, now I can look at it every day!! Thank you so much for such a beautiful pillow.. Will definitely recommend and order again Jo Hurley

Received just in time for my daughters first birthday and it’s absolutely gorgeous I couldn’t fault Kirsty’s work even my hubbie loved it! Clare Leah Butler

So pleased with our bears. The children adore them.
I knew they would be good as friends have ordered bears in the past. But these exceeded my expectations. Thanks so much. Angela Mufford

What material works best?
Stretch jersey material ie babygrows/vests work best & give the best effect on the keepsakes, altho most materials can be used. I advise against thick denim & very thin/sheer fabric, these do not work well & don’t give a very good appearance.
Does it have to be just baby-grows?
No, I can make a keepsake from pretty much any fabric. A keepsake can be made to remember a family member, a special event in your life & much more. Wedding dresses can be turned into a Keepsake to remember your special day or clothing of a loved who has passed.
Are these toys?
No, my keepsakes are designed to sit on a shelf to be appreciated, due to buttons & small parts pose choking hazards. They cannot be CE tested due to the nature of the fabric used to create them. I will not be held responsible if you allow your child to play with the Keepsake.
What condition do the clothes need to be in?
The clothes need to be clean and in reasonable condition. If an item is very worn then this may not work so well as it may be weak. Any marks/stains on the clothing may be visible on your finished keepsake.
Can I return an item?
Unfortunately,  I cannot accept returns for any personalised items plus these are made with individuals special items. If you are unhappy with your item please message me to discuss further.
Do you post outside the UK?
I will happily post outside the UK if you cover the cost of the postage.
How many items do you need to make a Keepsake?
This information can be found on my price list, amounts are for 0-3 upwards, please send extra items if they are newborn/tiny baby size. Any items of clothing that has not been used will be sent back with the keepsake. Feel free to include special instruction regarding clothing you want to be used.
How long does it take to make?
The keepsakes are very popular so we do have a long waiting list. Once I have received your clothing please allow 6 weeks from start to finish. All my keepsakes are made by me so do take time!
